    5.3 Tick/Knock?

I’ve done the right thing and cancelled the order on the cheap Chinese headers. Going to run stock manifolds, it’s a stock truck doesn’t need anything fancy. Just going to get bolts and new gaskets and hope the manifolds aren’t warped at all.

    5.3 Tick/Knock?

Actually didn't end up being lifter tick in my case, it's just a severe exhaust leak from broken manifold bolts. Going to be putting a pair of shorty headers in it that come with crappy paper gaskets, and id like to use an MLS gasket on them. The headers have a primary diameter of 1 5/8" and I...

    5.3 Tick/Knock?

question for y'all. The headers I bought have a primary port diameter of 1 5/8", but every MLS gasket I can find has a primary port diameter of 1 7/8", will those gaskets work with the headers I bought?

    5.3 Tick/Knock?

Been a while since I've updated about the Suburban's tick. Just kind of been living with it ticking, so no the engine did not have a catastrophic failure! Finally took the time today to rig up a way to see if the broken exhaust manifold bolts were causing the tick, and based on the results in...

    02 Suburban Water Leak

It rained last night, good news bad news. Good news, foam just underneath the windshield is NOT soaking wet, only damp from the old water when it did leak. No water in blower motor either now. Bad news, Ton of water still on the floor. BUT, I found where the supposed second leak is coming from...

    02 Suburban Water Leak

At some point probably yes. For now I ran a bead of RTV all the way down the passenger side of the windshield, from the top at the start of the urathane to the bottom where it ends. We'll see if it seals better, rain is coming in the next few days!

    02 Suburban Water Leak

Another little update. Took the trim off the windshield, and yeah.... Pretty sure that's the leak.

    02 Suburban Water Leak

Another update! I have a lead, and may have found the problem while recording??? Heres a video, sorry its kind of long. Let me know what y'all think...

    02 Suburban Water Leak

I know it also flows down to the electrical connectors in the passenger footwell right on the farthest right point, below the a pillars. and I look all the way up from under the dash with a flashlight and I can see frozen drips of where it has been leaking. Just no matter what I cannot get water...

    02 Suburban Water Leak

Update here. Ive found nothing. Spent the past 2 hours dumping gallons of water everywhere I can think, and I only managed to get one drip of water from god knows where. Dumped water on door seal, took the wiper cowl off and dumped it all over the plastic cover, poured it down the antenna seal...

    02 Suburban Water Leak

No sunroof, not sure the door seals would cause as much water to be in the blower motor as there was. It just seems like no matter where I spray water I cant find where it's dripping from. I did try spraying it at the door seal. I can say the foam below the windshield was damp when I had the top...

    02 Suburban Water Leak

Yeah it's very very annoying. The cabin air filter is totally dry too, just pulled that out minutes ago.

    02 Suburban Water Leak

Hey y'all having a major water intake issue on the interior of my 02 Suburban. It's on the passenger side and when it rains it gets all over the floor. I tried spraying water a couple months ago and couldn't find specifically one area where it was from. I did notice that the foam right below the...

    02 Suburban Steering Slop

Just a thought here, I’ve noticed in addition to the slop in the wheel, when I’m driving the steering feels so light, like a feather I swear. I looked, and sure enough, as an 02, it has an EVO system… probably going to buy the delete kit for that, as I don’t think it’s working properly. I will...

    02 Suburban Steering Slop

Honestly yall, I think my best and cheapest bet here, with being on a budget is bring tools to the junkyard and feel for play in all the steering wheels. Then I can snag a tight one and maybe it’ll even be a reman if I’m lucky.

    02 Suburban Steering Slop

It’s just very annoying, because of the slop, my steering isn’t centered with the new alignment and I’m not sure it ever will be until I replace the gear box.

    02 Suburban Steering Slop

Yeah it’s very weird, mines not hydroboost though. But update, tried adjusting, turned it about a turn and it made no difference in the play at all, and actually caused it to start binding while I was driving and stopped properly returning to center so I backed it off like 3/4 of a turn. Seems I...

    02 Suburban Steering Slop

I think I’ve done mine about half a turn? Definitely going to crank it a bit more and see how it does, of course making sure it still return to center. Can’t tell if it’s binding just by sitting there, because when I turn the wheel while still after about half a steering wheel turn it get super...

    02 Suburban Steering Slop

Yeah it for sure does seem that way! Lot of these reman ones are junk. Seems like it’s just a gamble, you buy one and hope it’s not god awful.

    02 Suburban Steering Slop

Ok I’ll give it a shot again with another adjustment. Thanks for the input!

    02 Suburban Steering Slop

Yeah I’ve done that before, do you mean just twisting on the Allen key on top in 1/8-1/4 turn at a time until the slop is removed? Never really had good luck with that adjustment.

    02 Suburban Steering Slop

Hi yall, talking about my 02 suburban 1500 with a 5.3 in this post. Just this week I finished installing all new front suspension and steering components. Took her in for an alignment, and the steering wheel isn’t centered at all, kind of wants to go all over and also there is STILL slop in the...

    Rear Center Brake Hose

Yeah it doesn’t pump at all, has constant pressure. And yeah everything you said is true. Probably no air in the system, will just leave alone for now, it stops fine when driving. Think I may have a hydroboost swap coming soon :) main parts are the booster itself(will probably buy at junkyard...

    Rear Center Brake Hose

So I’m just going to show this video here. Honestly when driving the brakes feel fine and they stop as expected, but just noticing when I’m pumping on the pedal it doesn’t seem to be the most convincing pedal, kind of sinks far down too. It has been like this since I bought the truck. Is it just...
