4 Piston Big Brake Upgrade from 2019-20

I watched auctions for 14 months before buying a 2011 Camaro 2SS for it's LS3 6.2L & 6 speed manual. Paid $6,400 but was too nice so I'm driving it now. 4 months later bought another 2011 Camaro 2SS for $5,300 then sold over $3,000 in parts leaving me with a great running LS3, 6 speeds manual...

4 Piston Big Brake Upgrade from 2019-20

I'm using an LS3 6.2L on my 73 Camaro so no DOD/AFM to fail. All aluminum so less weight up front and easy to get 500hp our of them while retaining great drivabilty and should get around 30mpg on the hwy in my 73. My 2018 Yukon Denali had an AFM lifter failure at 88K miles so I deleted the...

Not installed yet, just got back from a 1,500 road trip & flying out to Florida in 2 weeks so may not install until summer. I want to get my 73 Camaro restro-mod build done by end of May. The front brakes are the PPV Tahoe 16" rotors with 6 piston Brembo calipers. Part #s 84793057 &...

My From Start to Finish 6.0L Build

+1 on the zip lock bags. I label then store in order of removal then install in reverse order. Some bags may only have 2 bolts in them. Makes reinstall so much easier.

    Battery Size

By removing the support bars around the battery you can easily pull the battery up & out. Makes for an easy swap. I ended up installing a H8/49 battery which is bigger so I did remove the bolts to the radiator overflow so I could slide it over but did not remove it.

    IS AFM DISABLEMENT NECESSARY??

I turned off the AFM via a tune on my 2018 Yukon Denali, use Mobil 1 oil & OEM filter every 5-6K miles. I still had an AFM lifter fail at 82K miles then did a cam/lifter upgrade deleting the AFM system. Now at 115K miles and enjoying the extra power & better mileage. I did a 2k mile road trip...

    2019 Yukon Build

I'm going to use Gen 6 Camaro rear Brembo Calipers on my Yukon. I did the cam/lifter swap last year and was able to walk off then back on the timing chain with very little effort so didn't have to drop the oil pan. 1st swap I did took 20hrs, 2nd time I did it in 15hrs. Time consuming but not...

About to cross over 100k miles in my 2018 Tahoe Premier 4WD

Changing fluids when due & not beating on it when cold should keep you running for a long time but the AFM lifter failure can happen at anytime. I had my AFM tuned out for 30K miles but still had a lifter fail. I deleted the AFM with a cam/lifter swap 25K miles ago and sitting at 113K miles on...

    2019 Yukon Build

Looks like you are making quick progress on a fun project. If you change your display to the 4 mini gauges then press the trailer/tow button it replaces the voltage gauge with trans temp so you can see both oil pressure & trans temp. Pics are from my 2018 Yukon Denali. I installed a BellTech...

4 Piston Big Brake Upgrade from 2019-20

Parts are arriving in a few days. I will make a new post with pics & part numbers. Everything in new except the rear calipers which I paid $150 for the pair & were included in the total cost. I repainted the calipers on my Wife's 2014 SS Sedan so the Yukon's calipers will be the same color.

SOLVED: Need to drop the fuel tank but it is currently 80% full

I replaced the fuel 2x on my 1999 Suburban and each time I had close to 40gal of fuel in the tank. I used some plywood and a floor Jax made for easy fuel pump sway, took about 1hr each time.

I did a 10 minute wash/dry on the Yukon last night get ready for a 2K mile road trip. Stopped for some refreshments and took these pics. Been almost 2 years & 35K miles since ceramic coating the Yukon and it's still so easy to take care off. I haven't been using detail spray after washing...

    100,000 mile club

Or abit crazy, LOL. I replaced the lifters & timing chain on my 150K mile 1999 Suburban the day before going on a 12K road trip with my wife & 4 kids. Neighbor saw me working on it & thought I had wrecked the Suburban with all that came off to replaced those parts. We had a fun filled 6...

Show off your 2015-2020 lowered tahoes and yukons

Sadly my 1971 Monte Carlo SS454 was stolen from me. I tried replacing it with a 1972 Monte Carlo 454 4 speed manual which was a fun car but never filled the void left behind with the loss of my SS454. Adjusted for inflation I had almost $20,000 in upgrading the engine. I was running 13:1...

My Fashionably Late 03 Denali XL Build Thread

One snowy day I took my 3 boys ages 13,13,15 to the empty high school parking in my 1999 Suburban for some driving lessons. After an hour of playing with me driving 1st then them I got out & let them go on their own. Shorty after a cop shows up & sees my Suburban sliding around on the...

Show off your 2015-2020 lowered tahoes and yukons

Try removing your fender liners then bending the firewall side tabs in abit. I also did my top tabs and have no rubbing on my 305/45/22 with a 2/3 drop.

How do I get my Tahoe to ride/handle like my 3500HD?

Tires are pretty quiet now but I only have 5K miles on them. With the Hellwig swaybars + lowered + 305/45/22 summer tires it's not Cadillac smooth but smooth enough. I can hit those curves hard without any body lean. Upgraded cam (no AFM) & tune is icing on top. The bigger tires did cost...

How do I get my Tahoe to ride/handle like my 3500HD?

Installing General UHP 305/45/22 tires took the handling of my 2018 Yukon Denali to the next level especially in sharp turns. I have plenty of curvy hilly backroads to play on. Response & grip are very impressive. For clearance I adjusted the fender liner mounting tabs so I don't rub even with...
