What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Beautiful truck you found! There was a blue green one around here the I really wished I pulled the trigger on.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I threw in new tie rods, inner and outer tonight. The hardest part was breaking the inner one loose. One thing that I thought was weird is that the passenger outer came off with 16 turns while the drivers side took 30. Is that normal or should they be closer? I was thinking they would be...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Staying productive this week. Changed out the old sway bar links. These were pretty dried out and cracked, but not falling apart.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Changed out the front jounce stops. The old ones looked ok, not cracked, but I bought these awhile back and just now got around to it.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Refreshed the headlights and turns signals. They weren't terrible to begin with but they looks so much better now. It really makes a difference in how old the truck looks when they are cleaned up.

    Pan drop - defeated tonight

Haha, pretty much! I usually start a project Friday/Saturday night thinking everything will go well...ends up taking longer than it probably should...then into the next day. Sleep it off, do some research and try again. And the process repeats!

    Pan drop - defeated tonight

Thanks guys. I was definitely rushing to get the job done while I had time after the kids went to bed and got frustrated and tired. I'm going to take this all into account and attack it again with sufficient time. At the end of the day...I learned something new, didn't get hurt, and hopefully...

    Pan drop - defeated tonight

Good idea. The front of the pan was down about 3 inches, I could easily see the bottom of the filter with room underneath. I'll take a look on my next attempt.

    Pan drop - defeated tonight

Correct, stuck on the shift bracket. It looked like I had space to clear the exhaust once I got it passed the bracket. I just couldn't get it out of the way.

    Pan drop - defeated tonight

Hey guy's I know this is a common issue and discussed alot on here, but I am in need of some help. I may be in over my head. I spent the night trying to drop the transmission pan and disconnecting the shift linkage bracket to ultimately give up and call it a night. I removed the front drive...

Thanks for the tips! I'll pick up one of those smaller ratchets and go from there.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Today I tried dropping the transmission pan. I didn't get past the removal of the shift linkage bracket. I was able to get a torx 40 into the bolts nice and snug but couldn't get any room to turn the ratchet. I found a "how to" to disconnect the front drive shaft to get some more room. Is there...

Nice looking truck! Are the old one from an nnbs Denali? I've always thought they go really well with a black nbs.

When is enough to let go?

Sorry to hear that @DadsToy. I've been thinking about similar situations to this the last few days. With these trucks now 20 years old and a lot in the 200-250k range, and needing another "refresh" do you think there is a demand for either current owners to pay for a mild refresh or new to...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Just got back from our first long trip with the Yukon. 600 miles from Wilmington, NC to Corolla, NC and back. The truck did great. All gauges looked normal the whole time. I trans temp stayed at about 185 no matter the speed but I think that is normal range. The kids named her Yuky so that is...

Funny this came up. I had to put this all together last week and couldn't figure it out without the manual either.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

This is my first time changing it. I checked the transmission fluid after changing to see if it dropped at all but it still looks good. I'll continue checking this to make sure it's not dropping.

Replaced brake hoses and changed the transfer case fluid. I dodged a bullet with draining the transfer case as it was way overfilled. More than a quart of extra fluid drained from the fill plug. It may just be me but I think the rig drives so much better and smoother after all the refreshes.

Changed out the passenger front brake hose that was cracked. I think it's safe to say the fluid is original. The pedal feels a little better now. Thanks @vietvet for some assistance.
