you can use the non-Denali bezel, it just wont have the wood grain and the nice bevel into the radio/hvac controls. There is a place in Clackamas that does Hydro dipping and they can almost match the wood grain perfectly. I have the 03 up cage and bezel still sitting in my shop. I was just going to have the non-Denali bezel dipped to match.

Also to the OP, can we get a picture looking straight at the HVAC controls to see what you did. if you pull the bezel off, maybe post a pic of that too.

Hey fellow Portlander! I actually found an '05 Denali bezel today on E-Bay. I've used West Coast Hydrographics to do some stuff on one of my Harley's. Nice work they do. Ordered the rest of what I need too, but having a hard time with the dash install kit. I can't find one with the clips that slide into the factory cage like I've seen here.

I don't see in there where the kit came from, only that it was a single-din kit and the side brackets were reused. I think I'll go to my local car stereo shop. I bought one on EBay but it doesn't have the slide-in clips like the factory unit.
AHA! I received the 2003 radio cage the other day so I decided to take a look at it and now I see why the install kit doesn't have the clips- the 2003 model year doesn't use the pinch clips. GMC changed that so the newer ones screw in to the cage. Then I looked at a 2002 kit and there were the pinch clips, which I won't be needing. Thanks.

image.jpg. I did the center console swap in our 2001. But it's the original dash bezel!

Gentleman the time has arrived for someone to finally produce this on a larger scale and our friends over at Metra have done it for us. This consists of a whole new bezel and radio brackets to now allow us 1.5 din folks to have a full double din unit quick easy and painless. I haven't seen the quality in person but Metra has been around for many years and is a common name in the aftermarket stereo world. There is a thread somewhere in this forum i found the other day mentioning this new product
