00-02 to 03-06 double din upgrade

Gentleman the time has arrived for someone to finally produce this on a larger scale and our friends over at Metra have done it for us. This consists of a whole new bezel and radio brackets to now allow us 1.5 din folks to have a full double din unit quick easy and painless. I haven't seen the quality in person but Metra has been around for many years and is a common name in the aftermarket stereo world. There is a thread somewhere in this forum i found the other day mentioning this new product

If you or anyone else buys one, can you let us all know what you think of the quality and fitment of it all? I would love to do a DD in our denali but I'm not too sold on the alternative.

That's nice except for us Denali owners. I searched hard and finally found an '03 Denali bezel with the matching wood grain from a wrecking yard and got the cage too. It wasn't bad modifying things from there. For the non- Denali trucks this would work nice. Paint it to match the interior color and you're good to go.

Anyone else needed to cut away the plastic in the bottom of the slot to get the player all the way in? Mine is a little to deep to fit.

Meaning the cage for the DD unit. I did cut away some of the plastic supports in the bottom, and now it slides all the way in.
