Hey guys,

I'm looking to put a hitch on my 2000 Limited. I saw a video for installation to a Suburban that required fishing the bolts and square washer through the frame. But on the Limited, the frame is basically open, it's more like a channel than a Box tube. Is this normal for all Tahoes? Looks like hitch install would take 20 minutes.

unknown at this time.
all tahoe mounts should be the same. the burb might have shown that method because of tank placement or chassis strength classification perhaps.

Most likely, you buy any frame mounted Hitch like a Reese, you are going to probably be doing some drilling on your back.

Have a good workhorse Milwaukee 1/2 drill, a collection of some hefty large fresh drill bits and if the bolts look wimpy, buy, or rob some better ones like I had done in the past with a 1/2 dozen past vehicles.

Hoppy will most likely have the electrical hook up goodies.

Tools I'm not worried about, I have plenty of those. Installation shouldn't be too bad.

Does anyone know if the Yukon is the same for this era? I found a tow hitch from a Yukon on CL for $50 that I might go pick up. Or are the ones for the Suburban and Silverados/Sierras the same? I've seen a few for the Trucks as well.

Thanks,

matt

I'm pretty certain it will fit. Will probably pick it up tomorrow.

And when I looked under the car there is a connector their already for trailer brake lights. Just need to buy the harness.
