Howdy Folks,

Odd thing, my Tahoe appears to be running colder than normal. Ever since I've owned it (last summer) it's held about 210 on hot and super cold days. Lately, after (and only after) about 30 mins of driving the temp gauge will start to bounce a little and will eventually drop to 180 and stay there, then come back up in 10-15 mins. My first thought was thermostat, then fan clutch. I even thought maybe it was the gauge itself because my oil pressure gauge will bounce at idle but that never concerned me. Has anyone experienced this?

Is it just the reading or the actual heat output that you notice? If is just the reading then may be a cluster problem. Lots of threads here about that. If is actual heat output also then suspect the thermostat. You can check with a laser temp gun or with the correct scanner that will give you actual engine temp.
