01 tahoe fuel guage dead

Fuel guage went out few months back. Two days later a ecm fuse blew n killed truck. I swapped fuel pump thinking that was issue. (Before finding out it was a fuse only smh). But still fuel guage doesnt work after swapping the fuel pump unit. Havent had any more fuse issues after that one time so dnt believe its a short.


Any clue what issue could be?

Probably gauge cluster stepper motor. Just sent it out and have them all replaced, they always fail.

Yep it very possible its a bad stepper motor in the gauge cluster. The stepper motors are pretty inexpensive and if your good a soldering you can do it yourself or there are places that provide that service. Usually when one goes bad the others wont be long so might as well budget to replace all of them

With the stepper motor being bad possibly the low fuel light would be on correct? Because the light stays on constantly with the guage not working

on my tahoe after i replaced the fuel pump the guage on the dash never worked right again

Gauge clusters on these trucks are a known problem so if its not the pump its probably the gauge
