01 tahoe squeaky brakes

i had new pads and rotors put on my tahoe over 6months ago...they squeaked the day i got the truck back but assumed it would go away bc they werent worn in...months later, they still sound like crap...i dont wanna buy new parts, any ideas how i can fix the noise?

u just need to go over the pad with something abrasive. pull the pads out and rough them up with a wire wheel. if you dont have a wire wheel, lay them pad down on the concrete and scratch them up with the rd. they have a tendancy to get smooth as glass, u just have to scuff them up so they have something to bite with

ok thanks, i dont have the tools for that at home since im still in school so ill have to figure out something, thank you so much

all u need is your spare tire tools, and one socket. i want to say 15mm to pull the caliper off the bracket

when i got the truck, it didnt come with the spare tire parts, but i got a buddy that owns a shop so we will see how it goes, thanks again.

Guess you never plan on changing a spare when stuck in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone coverage around you?

Get those tools in that truck, .......................

well i gotta buy them, im in school full time and work when i can, its tough out there...deff with a 01 tahoe that doesnt sip on gas...

lol, agreed. u could always go by harbor freight and get a 4 way and a bottle jack fairly cheap. wonder what a junkyard would charge u for them? $20?

Yea my tire fell off and I didnt have ky jack with me... Luckily we got it there and we could swap it out... Although the cops wanted to impound it n I'm like hell no I got my tools coming
