Tony, before you get frustrated because you can't find them, drop struts are only for 07+ trucks. Your only options for a 00-06 truck are drop keys, control arms or lowering spindles. My personal recommendation for anyone wanting to keep factory like ride characteristics is to install spindles. I have heard the drop control arms work very well and I have heard some negatives also. Drop keys are an economical choice but when installed, you will get a firmer (or harsher, depending on who you talk to) ride. I read that you wanted to stay away from them but they will probably suit you best.

Really? I thought I saw somewhere that they were for 00-current  Sorry for the misinformation if that is wrong :(

Thanks Alex... yes you are probably right.. I want to talk to people who have done both and see what they say. Some say the Eibach kit is a good one with keys and springs... and I know it looks good as well.... so not sure what to do..

I've run keys only and spindles/keys. I haven't had an opportunity to run the control arms yet. I can say that I thought the keys were great, until I added spindles and realized how much the keys changed the ride and spindles didn't.

What questions do you have and I'll answer them best I can to help you make an educated decision. I will say this though. A lot of guys start with keys and swap them out for spindles as soon as they can afford to because they keys make the ride pretty harsh.

I have a Belltech 2/3 kit on the way. I'm doing keys and springs. I was looking at Eibach and after reading some posts, I went with Belltech. I'm hoping it turns out good. The DJM 2/3 kit was going to be my next choice.

I wasn't happy at all with my Eibach springs, ended up getting Belltech rear kit and do keys in front for now until I have the cash for the drop spindles

Let me know how the Belltech kit works out for you guys.

Also.... on my 96 k1500... I cranked the torsion bars to raise the front end it and the ride got firm.....so if I decrank on my 01 Tahoe the ride should soften.. correct?

The torsion bars do soften and that is what gives you the drop. With a small decrank (< 1") it might be ok. If you decrank a lot, the ride can to get harsher because the spring rate isn't enough to support the vehicle's weight. This means the jounce bumpers (bumpstops) can end up doing the work of the torsion bar.

Ah I see. I guess I can do a Beltech kit and just decrank an 1" and hope their rear springs are good, along with some street shocks or Bilsteins.

your truck is a 00-06 if you wanted to do
front keys
rear belltech 3-4 inch springs
rear belltech shock extenders
rear belltech short bumpstops
$350 shipped

if you wanted to add front/rear shocks belltech street performance 225 shipped. Ive installed many of the same kits on customers trucks locally and sell here. The rear belltech kit being 3-4 inches adjustable is very much worth it.

Any questions just hollar
