All summer long if the AC was on the tranny would go in and out of overdrive ever couple of minutes if the speed is between 60 and 65. If you keep it up to about 70 it stays in OD just fine. It only does this with the AC on. You can be on flat ground with the cruise control set on 65 and it will go in and out. Speed up and the problem goes away.
With the AC off there are no issues whatsoever.
I tryed searching the forum to see if anyone else had the problem but I didnt find anything. Probably just not searching the right way.

Sounds like there is a drag in the ac clutch, though I can't imagine it dragging enough to make the truck down shift. Is the ac clutch making any weird noises? Might be a bad bearing.

Not noticing anything with the compressor. All there sounds normal.

So did a little testing today and when the defroster is on, which I believe also runs the compressor, it does the same thing.

im curious about this as well, bc my truck has been doing it for a while now. But mine does it even with the ac off. Ive just assumed I need to replace the trans before long, so ive dealt with it. But a few weeks ago, i cleaned my t/b and maf, and the problem went away for a few days, then slowly came back...???
