I just bought a 2001 tahoe. I noticed last night that the headlights wont shut off when the vehicle is running. I will start it up when its dark and the headlights automaticlly come on. The switch is in the off position and this one does not have the automatic headlight option. Does anyone have a solution for this. You shut the car off and the headlights will shut off but as soon as I start it they come on, it only happens at night, during the day the daylight lights come on.
Well, if you have day time headlights and they only come on during the day, then your headlights seem to be working correctly!! It's stupid how GM did the lights on these trucks, the only way to turn your headlights off at night is by pushing the interior light override switch (it's on the headlight switch panel next to the headlight switch) 4 times in and out until it "dings" on you, that will tell you that the lights are off!! Push it 4 more times to turn them back on!!

Also, if I remember right, if you have the e-brake on and then start your truck, the headlights won't come on until you release the brake!! Haven't done that in a while so I could be wrong!
