'02 Tahoe Parking Brake Shoe Problems

Anyone had parking brake shoe issues? Brake material separating from metal shoe and shredding up inside rotor? It's happened to me twice over the last ten years. Maybe I'm waiting to long to replace?

The Yukon I bought had one pad/shoe completely missing. Just chalked it up to not being adjusted right and replaced them.

Had that happen a few months ago & my shoes were really worn...thought my rear end was going out. I think replacing them more often is best especially since the parking brake system is so-so to begin with...
