02 Yukon XL jerks when accelerating

Hi guys,

I have a 02 Yukon XL 2500 with the 8.1 engine.

The problem I have is that the car jerks when I accelerate. If I back off the gas pedal and start again slowly it will act ok. However if I'm going up hill there is not much I can do since I need to step on the gas.

Any ideas on what may be causing this? transmission? fuel related?

No lights or codes have come on. I have told my wife (who is driving the car right now) to go to AutoZone or Advance Auto and ask them to run the scanner.

Hopefully she remembers what they say and I'll post the results.

This sounds like the transmission is slipping to me. How long has it been since you've changed the fluids in it?

It has been a while. It's been a work truck and I have 198k on it.

I'll go ahead and get that scheduled. Any big place you recommend or any I should stay away from?

I've had Aamco do work for me in the past but I can't say that they are all good or anything.

i maintain the "stay away from the dealership" and "STAY AWAY FROM TRANS FLUSHES" on that old of a tranny. just a simple drain and refill. dont circulate that crap through there. alot of people swear by them and alot of people have trannies crap out on them after flushes on high mileage units.
