03 cateye suburban build

Swap was fairly simple pull front clip, body bolts, a/c, heater core, few connectors and going by time stamps on the pics it was roughly 2.5 hrs from running suburban to the chassis sitting under the avalanche. I cant upload pic with 2wd chassis under suburban until i crop someone out of pic that would like not to be posted on the internet



I think we took a couple weeks break after this before the drop kit no pics of that install but here is after

Is that a project s10/s15 pickup in the 1st pic?

I liked it but still wanted something a little more different so after about a 6 month hunt i found all the parts needed in spiral grey from multiple trucks for the cateye swap couldnt find a 03+ bumper so we put the clip on and was gonna see just how bad fitment the 99-02 bumper would be just to find out i could have a "tucked" bumper with very little work. I basically took both bumper upper trim pieces and plastic welded them together. now i can body work it with a plastic filler, smooth, paint and itll look good but right now its ugly. lol

And thats how it stayed for a while till i finally decided to make it 2wd and put a DJM 3/5 kit on it. As for the 2wd swap I just so happened to have a 03 Avalanche 2wd that was my daily. And one friday after i decided to do a chassis swap and be done by sunday. so started 5pm on a friday and with help was driving both home saturday at 10pm its was between 14-16hrs worth of work

Are you saying you swapped the Burban body onto the avalanche frame? Cheese and rice that's a lot of work!

added american flags to rear windows, stripped interior for a deep clean also dyed carpet(temporary) and changed wheels to 20" LTZ and thats about it for the good stuff. ive done minor things like double din, new speakers, added an amp and sub, electric fan swap, steering and suspension has been gone through while the chassis was still under the avalanche.

Yes its on a avalanche frame. I had alot of money tied up that avalanche but i wanted the suburban but didnt want to lose all my new parts and didnt want a 4wd so it worked out to swap them

Serious kudos to you that's the first time I've seen that done. Now ill shut up and stop interrupting your build thread lol.

All the work so far is from 4/18 to present time. Next on list is to sand/polish wheels and reclear coat them. done been stripped they had the usual clear flaking off issue. and getting the 5 speed swap done.

I know im gonna to get grief since im using a nv3500 but i have seen those take some serious abuse without any issues and its just a driver and with my c3500 i dont have to use this to tow with and i dont want the gearing of a nv4500

This is some sweet stuff! Haven't seen the front end tuck done like that either!

I totally get the NV3500 reasoning the only way to kill them seems to be towing over loaded in OD for extended periods of time.
