I have an 03 Denali XL (Bose, factory non touchscreen nav, rear flip down DVd) and I would really like to ditch the non touch screen nav for a nicer pioneer or the like unit. My question is how hard is it to wire in everything to work with an aftermarket head unit? I know there are interfaces that allow the use of some of the factory options but I want to retain the use of all the factory options(including the rear DVD and steering wheel controls). What is my best options for doing this. Can teh factory nav antenna be used with an aftermarket unit?

This is an excellent question and I wish I could help. I was told that my rear dvd player will still work with wireless headphones but no longer through the sound of the stereo. I also was hoping I could somehow find a way to wire a steering wheel control adapater to work off the rear seat controls. I'm sure if its possible then someone on here has probably figured it out or will figure it out

I know you need an interface box for the steering wheel controls, and another for the onstar / chimes. (the radio generates the chimes for headlights on and door open). I have been researching the DVD/NAVI swap recently, i only have the bose without navi. I have been told that ill loose the rear sear audio with an aftermarket unit, but I dont know about the rear DVD in yours. good luck

I do not care to lose rear audio but my kids sure would like to retain the ability to watch a movie. I cannot believe that with all of these trucks out there nobody has a simple way to do this. I will figure out something
