Ok guys I have read a couple threads on this topic but there all mixed ideas.

I have a 03 Escalade ESV with the auto ride. The compressor comes on everytime on start-up. Bad shocks is my idea my take.

Can I replace just the rear shocks with normal shocks? I dont care about the error msg on the dash. Nor do I want anything from the air ride still operating.

I had a 04 Yukon XL Denali that was converted to normal shocks and it rode decent.

Or do I have to replace the front as well?

I've done that recently. Not particularly happy with my shocks atm.

Get some Bilsteins, unplug battery, pull the air ride fuse, plug battery back in. No more service air ride lights.

What kind of shocks did you get? I am thinking of only replacing the rears. Ive to read that Bilsteins are they way to go.

Anyone have any reviews on the Monroe Reflex 911506 or the KYB Monomax 565103?

At Autozone under a 05 Suburban 4WD. The Bilstein shocks for the rar come up as part number # 24-143806 instead of the # 24-185677. Is there any difference?

Hell, Im going to put normal shocks on this weekend. My compressor was dead when I bought the truck and been bouncing all over the damn place since. Just looked at the shocks last week and they have holes all in them. I went with the cheapest shocks I could find, anything has to be better that basically just riding on springs.

I have Gabriel max control's. I ran kyb monomaxs in my truck those were Better than the Gabriel's, but bilsteins are the best of the three for me. Easily worth a bit more money for bilsteins. If you plan to lift get the 5100's.

Definitely no lift for me but dont want the rear to sag when I carry all 7 passengers.

Is there any difference on the Bilsteins from my above thread?
