03 Tahoe center console latch

My daughter yanked the console lid up without pressing the release and broke that little tab off that holds the lid closed. I tried super glue, but that didn't work. Anyone know the part number for the plastic latch, or have one?

you talking about the center top part of the center console? if so, threads that i have read about say you might have to try to find a whole new lid. mine was broken when i got my truck. but i'm going to try to figure out of there is some sort of tab i might be able to screw onto that part to duplicate the function.

if you find something else out, please let me know, lol.

Had the same problem. Brought it to the dealership and it was like $20 for the new latch and they had it the next day. I was thinking that I needed the whole lid which was like $200 at the dealership, but they had a part number specifically for the latch...don't remember the exact number. Took like mins to change it out.

is this for the part that flips open toward the front dash? or the part of the console that flips open toward the passenger seat?

I found what you are looking for at 1stgmcparts dot com. It is in the"console" section. Then choose "center console" and finally "latch". It is $16 plus S&H.

when i searched center console, i didnt see latch as an option.

It is right below "Housing" and before "Lid" Make sure you are in the "parts" section and not "accessories".

shipping at those places is a *****...$22 at the dealer is ok at this point
