03 Tahoe choppy gauge needles

I just got my 03 Tahoe. When I brake or decelerate my speedo needle seems to chop or skip backwards instead of being smooth. Anyone know a quick fix to this? It's not like the needle is loose, it's sturdy by just seems to click back like a clock.

My rpm gauge behaves the same way. Guess the stepper motor moving the needel are about to give up.

Stepper motors are going bad. They are not hard to replace if you know how to solder.
