To start off with (IT'S NOT THE LITTLE MICROPHONE) LOL ..
But yes I do have "THE VENT" for auto climate control,sun roof and rear heat/air.
What I also have that most if not all don't have is a hand held, hard wired cell phone mounted at the base of the console. What does this have to do with a rattle above my head, well this is a ten year old phone and it has a window mount antenna on the drivers side back window. All of witch is JUNK. I dont want to just "cut" every thing out, I want to take it out so that there is nothing left. So I unscrewed the coax at the block on the window and pulled the coax from the front A-piller down too below the dash and back over to the console. Every thing came out nice.
NOT!!!!
Later when I drove the truck a rattle just above and behind my head can now be heard. When I tap on the head liner right ahead of the vents for the heat/ac the rattle taps back at me. Okay WTF So off comes the door trim and the grab handle and I pull the head liner down to find it is not the vent or the drain tube for the sun roof but some kind of plastic stiffner that was glued in. ( I dont think it has any thing to do with the sun roof drain)
Any way pulling the coax out caught the DAMN thing and broke the glue seal loose. I was able to pull the head liner down far enough to get some silicon sealer under the stiffner and glue it back down.
Rattle stoped.
Well, Maybe it didn't stop the rattles "in" my head but it stopped the rattle above my head.
Moral of the story = Every action has a reaction
The pic is not a good one but if you look close you can see the thin black piece just ahead of the vent holes and on the outside of the sun roof opening.
