Bought an 03 gmc yukon a couple months ago and the bottom four buttons on the steering wheel do not work. I can cycle through odo/trip/hours with the button on the cluster but that's it.

Was wondering if anyone had an idea what would cause that? My main concern is I plan on changing my oil this weekend and want to clear the "change engine oil" message on the dash. Can you do this without the dic buttons? Like with an obd2 scan tool?

In my 04 Tahoe, you just turn on the key without starting the vehicle and push the gas peddle to the floor 4-5 times to reset the oil change reminder. I can't be sure it works the same for yours.

Yeah I decided to just Google it shortly after posting this and found that out.

If anyone has any leads on the dic problem let me know. The cheaper the better since I'm going to have to put a new transfer case in it here soon.

Do you have a aftermarket radio? If you do and those buttons work, then I'm betting your truck didn't come with steering wheel controls and someone added them. To my knowledge you have to program the cluster to accept it. So I guess they could have replaced the cluster as well...

When I got the truck it had the factory radio, it has the Bose system. And the dic buttons haven't worked since I got it. I do have an aftermarket double din now.

Yeah chances are they just replaced the cluster at some point and just swapped it with a base version cluster... I believe I read that you can have the cluster programmed to get dic working.

What trim package do you have?

That doesn't really matter... I've seen fully loaded LT without them, and base LS with them lol. I guess it was just optional. however your rpo codes in your glovebox will tell you.
