I've got an 03 Yukon with a USA SPEC iPod input installed after-market. I've had the USA SPEC for probably 7 years. Long story short, I need to replace it now that I have an iPhone 5. When I got the original USA SPEC installed, I had professionals do it. That was long before I was fairly knowledgeable and did all my own mods and repairs (that I am capable of doing). I remember the guy saying something about having to call a dealership because the radio locked up when they pulled it out (anti-theft) and they had to unlock it. When/if I get the new unit to install so I can run my iPhone 5 through my radio, I would love to do it myself. I've installed similar things in other cars before so I'm not worried about anything other than the radio locking up. How do I get around this so I can install the unit myself without locking up my radio? Thanks for any advice.
