Even though I've been reading the forum constantly, I last posted half-a-year-ago, when I was considering a MY2024 Yukon XL SLT vs Suburban RST. You folks were great in helping me with that! As part of that process, I also decided to wait until MY2025 release to better compare differences.

Long story short, I've now pretty much settled on getting a 4WD Yukon XL Denali, with the Denali Reserve package (PCN), and all related packages that come included with it or are required by it. I'm still deciding between MY2024 and MY2025, and don't really care one-way-or-other regarding the new dash / infotainment system (which I know is a big draw for some).

When I look at MSRP for MY2024 vs MY2025, both configured as above and including destination, I find them to be pretty close at ~$96k --- within $600 or so of each other, which isn't enough to move the needle one way or the other.

The big surprise to me is that the MY2025 Denali Reserve package appears to have eliminated the inclusion of the "Premium Capability Package with Active Response 4WD" (Z6E) namely, air-ride and eLSD, which is included in the MY2024 Denali Reserve package.

In fact, when I tried to manually add that Z6E package to the MY2025 Denali, I found that I was unable to do so, given the presence of the Advanced Technology Package (CWN), as part of Denali Reserve (PCN). Indeed, when examine the GM Fleet Order Guide, I see the following MY2025 Denali footnote: "Advanced Technology Package...Not available with ... (Z6E) Premium Capability Package with Active Response 4WD..."

On my end, two of the key safety non-negotiables are Super Cruise (UKL) in the Advanced Technology Package (CWN) and eLSD (G96) in the Premium Capability Package with Active Response 4WD (Z6E). It appears that I can obtain both of these with a MY2024 Yukon XL Denali Reserve, but not with a MY2025 Yukon XL Denali Reserve.

In order to get UKL/G96 on a MY2025 Yukon XL, I believe I'd need to bump up to the Denali Ultimate, which would base at ~$105k.

The extra $9k from Denali Reserve to Denali Ultimate hardly seems worth it to me (personally, but this is individual value prop). I'm hoping someone will correct me and there is indeed way to get UKL/G96 on MY2025 Yukon XL without Ultimate trim level.

If not, I'm a bit surprised I didn't come across this in any print / video reviews of MY2025 versions. Do you think it's another (very subtle) example of GMC managing trim-level packages / options to push for upsell?

Thanks for all your input!

AMWWorks,

Yes, exactly what I'm looking for...

Can you please confirm you configured that with MY2025 Yukon XL 4WD? When I try to do that with the online GMC configurator, it removes the Denali Reserve package when I add the air-ride / eLSD...

Thanks!

AMWWorks,

Thanks so much --- this was huge help. And, I can now independently confirm that I can configure this. I have no idea how I kept on getting some weird warnings when I did it earlier myself. I do believe that GMC configurator is much more confusing than others (especially BMW / Audi online configurators), but that still doesn't excuse.

For those who might follow this who'd like confirmation of actual ability to obtain Denali Reserve alongside Air-Ride / eLSD, I've attached an actual window sticker that I downloaded from GMC inventory showing this. Not local dealer to me (by longshot), but still showing that actual models exist in the field.

Thanks again!

You are correct that GM did downgrade the Denali reserve package, as in previous years I believe it included the Premium Capability Package!

Tip: if you want to tag someone, either "reply" to that member's post (like I did here with yours) or 'tag' him using the "@" symbol and start typing the member's name. A picklist will come up and you can select the name from that. If you don't use the reply or tag function the member may not see your post, and won't receive a notice that he was mentioned.

Or just tag him: @AMWWORKS

Replying to myself above.

Now that I hunt this down further, I think I understand my initial confusion over the GMC configurator. It all comes down to differences in Denali engine choice.

I believe it still might NOT be possible to configure the Duramax version of the MY2025 4WD Yukon XL, including "Denali Reserve" (PCN) and "Premium Capability Package with Active Response 4WD" (Z6E) packages. Obviously, no Duramax MY2025 exist in the wild, so I can't really verify with Window Stickers, as I did above.

However, please see attachment regarding configurator changes when I try to add Z6E package to a Duramax MY2025 with PCN. In other words, it removes Duramax and PCN, and replaces with 6.2L.

I'd welcome any thoughts, @AMWWORKS / @WalleyeMikeIII , as to how one might configure MY2025 Duramax with PCN & Z6E. Thanks so much!
