0318 code...

Today may 2001 Tahoe made some "trouble" after I started the engine ..a little later the MIL came on.
So I pluged in my Autoxray a found code 0318 . Coil cyl. 8...

Then I cleared the code... until now nothing! Could it be, that when I took off the battery three days ago and put it on today - that the "impulse" sended a false signal ?

Made a trip for about 5 miles or so - and there is no code at all....

It may take a few drive cycles to reset the code. It may also be in the "pending" codes bank, and we'll not illuminate the CEL until the computer decides it's a permanent or reoccurring problem.

let it ride. If it starts actin up again then you know to investigate with a coil swap and all that good jazz.

I checked the ECM with the Scanner... no codes pending...nothing stored. Perhaps that all occured, when I put the battery back on.... because before I took off the battery there was no code...no MIL nothing.

We ´ll see....
