It's ours so I've thought about putting a 5.3 in it and calling it a day that's still a lot of work.4L80e. So what blew, the engine?
Swap a junkyard 6.0 engine and keep on trukin' would be my vote.

Should be all the same--4.8, 5.3 and 6.0.Isn't swapping in a 6.0 pretty much as much work as swapping in a 5.3?

No doubt you are happy with your mechanic choice but, how was it determined that he/she is trustworthy? Recommended by friends? Have you checked for certifications and reviews?Well we found a trust worthy local mechanic that will rebuild the engine. So after the holidays are over we're going to get back here
