Hello All,
I just got an 04 Denali this week. 145,000 miles on it.
I have already had the check engine light on for p0420 code. So I changed the plugs and wires. cleared the code with scan tool. Started and drove fine.
Went to drive it Friday and drove fine to get some food. Then came home to hook up to the trailer and as I was pulling out with the trailer the brake light on dash comes on, alarm chime, and pedal to the floor. No stopping power. My scan tool didnt return a code on it. OTC 3111 Pro scan tool. Not the best but does my other cars too.
I dont have the service manual for it and have always had one for everything.
I prefer CD, but I can not find one like that. CD is much faster at searching stuff.
Has anyone had this happen and can steer me in the right troubleshooting direction? I'm not dumb, and can turn a wrench or two. just cant spell worth a damn. I also have mechanical skill, I just installed a new engine in my other car. I am not a pro by a long shot. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

You are kind of harsh on yourself and your spelling appears to be fine by me, but I am no spelling **** either. lol.

But if you loose all brake pressure and goes to the floor it sounds to me like a booster bad or ABS pump went out. Happen to me at work on a Esky. Drove fine, stopped fine, then all the sudden went to park the car and the brake fell to the floor, no pressure, no resistance nothing. Only thing stopped me was the vehicle in front of me - thank goodness.

May not be much help, but cant think of any reason why the brakes would just give up.

Make sure the rod from the pedal to the booster didn't come undone. Also make sure you didn't blow a brake hose or line, or even a caliper seal. If that's all good I'd look at a master cylinder replacement.

Well thanks to all for input.
After checking and some looking it finished off the rusted out brake line to abs mod.
So I have ordered a stainless steel full brake line kit for it from ebay. Found a company that builds them out of Ohio. I am all about building and buying in the good old USA.
Now I noticed it needs new rotors and pads. also Calipers are so rusted bleeder screws are completely rusted off. Now new Calipers as well. So while I am throwing money at this thing , going to get stainless steel hoses as well. If I am going to have to bleed the system only do it once for a long long time. lol
But I plan on keeping this one for a while. Thats why I dont mind putting good parts on it.

If your getting all new calipers brakes and rotors get the gmt900 calipers and rotors for the front. You'll notice a nice difference. All you'll need is calipers with the mounting bracket, pads and rotors. Simple bolt on mod and you'll be happy.

Thanks for the links.
I go back and forth on buying all separate or in a package deal. Front, back rotors and calipers. About $600. If I buy all separate I think I can get it all for about $350- $400, including new stainless steel hoses to all calipers and connecting lines to rearend.
Thanks again

So, the 2 links for calipers, is one for the left side and the other for the right? Do they come with whats needed to bolt them up and in mounting plates and such? Whatcha do for pads?

Yea all hardware included. I actually went with Duralast Gold Cmax since they have a lifetime warranty and can be replaced as long as they don't have uneven wear
