Did you plug your VIN in over at GMPartsDirect or GMPartsKing? AWD should have a regular old 10-bolt 8.6" axle. It takes 75W90 Synthetic Gear Lube, the current AC Delco part number is 10-4016 and it takes 2.15 Quarts.

What gear fluid would you recommend? I'm changing it out tomorrow after work so it'll be to be something I can get at autozone etc.

Thanks

I've used whatever 75w90 synthetic fluid is on hand. valvoline, mobil 1, etc. I get the stuff with the friction modifier built into the fluid - just fill and go.

Checking it is a little bit annoying - you need to fabricate some sort of dipstick. Fill spec is is about an inch below the fill hole. 2.1 quarts

i put the cheapest crap available in all my rears that i build. Cept the camaro, its got redline shockproof. And when i swapped gears like 6 months later, you better believe i saved it and put it back in.
