Hey y'all. My 2004 Tahoe's a.c. goes out and flashes the little snowflake symbol after its driven in the rain or taken through the carwash. At times, too, the a.c. will just randomly ** out while I'm driving down the road, raining or not, and the only way to get it to come back on (while driving) is to throw it in neutral, shut the ignition off, and restart the car, then it blows ice cold again. Any thoughts are GREATLY appreciated!

Although I've never seen it on a Chevy; if the compressor stops turning on a Toyota then the AC light will flash and it will not reset until the battery is disconnected.

So without seeing it you may have to much gap in the clutch so it is disengaging when it gets wet from maybe a puddle splash.

Does the compressor make any type of rattling when it engages?

I had to remove the front my clutch and change the shim to close the air gap up because mine would rattle when it was engaging.

Hey, thanks for the response, fire! There is no rattle, no noise whatsoever. Just blows super hot air. If I wash the car, or catch a puddle then hit the interstate or a 70 mile speed highway, it'll come back on. I wasn't sure if there is a connection under the car that's getting wet and not working or what.

Replace the belt and/or tensioner or seal the connector on the compressor with something to waterproof it.
