Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum so any help will be awesome.

I have a 04 Tahoe 5.3L and when the weather gets up to around 90 or higher, my tahoe has no power. I almost have to mash the pedal to the floor to get it to go anywhere. When i'm on the highway it won't down shift to pass anyone. there are no codes. I am at a loss, i cannot figure it out.

Has anyone had this problem?

I too have this problem. My 2002 has been into a mechanic, who was able to reproduce the problem but not able to find an issue. He had my truck for 3 days trying to figure it out. Finally he cleaned out the fuel lines, but it's starting to do it again, so I'm also interested in what people come up with here.

if engine/trans temps exceed a certain value both systems can go into limp mode. have a good tuner look at it.

I Live in Vegas and had an issue with my 2006 getting to hot and the alternator went into a type of limp mode. I switched to a 180 thermostat and never had the problem again. The only time I had my engine/trans go into limp mode was when i was playing with my HID's and it thought there was an electrical issue, but that resolved itself I stopped playing with them haha. Thermostats for the NBS arent to expensive I believe mine was a hypertech and ran me about $16 easy swap to do too.

Also check MAF sensors, MAP sensors, etc. Check wiring. Check for codes too, I would do a full freshen up. Its in limp mode cutting the timing via cpu.

Catalytic converters clogged? Has it thrown any codes for the O2 sensors or a P0420?
