Auto fog light option on Yukon

Forgot to report, I have the harness as of last week. Haven't had a chance to get it on yet though. Will report back once it's on.

I just got the same harness for my 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. I will report on it as well. Gen5DIY's stuff is oem quality in my opinion.

So, just to confirm: you cannot leave the fog lights in an “on” position so that whenever the headlights turn on at night fogs are automatically lit too?

I don’t remember any vehicle in the last 20 years that didn’t have the feature????

I dropped nearly $100k on a 2024 XL SLT and this seems pretty ridiculous.

You also have to go deep into the settings just to change the auto fan speed. Brutal

Every time you turn the truck on, if you want the fogs on at any point, you have to turn them on. They'll stay on for that engine cycle. They otherwise go off if you hit the button again, or when you shut the truck off.

This harness is supposed to solve this issue of the fogs needing to be turned on each time you want them on -- not unlike the Autostop Eliminator.

In my mind, it's a feature that probably 90% of owners don't care about, and so I don't link the [lack of] feature to the vehicle cost.

Finally got around to installing this, and it works PERFECTLY!

I just finished installing a home auto fog kit for my yukon denali xl 2023. Really easy with two #1N 4004 diodes. From connector X1 wire 1 yellow to connector X1 wire 3 brown and gray for the left side. Then connector X3 wire 4 yellow to X3 wire 2 brown green for the right side.

With this method, during the day the fogs are off but in the evening on low and high beam the fogs are still on.

Gonna pull the connectors again and double check the connections.
