My 04 Tahoe Z71 3rd brake light is out. All the fuses are in working order. The cruise control works. Both of the other brake lights work as well. I've even replaced the light (brand new, oem). Still not working. Please help!

Check for voltage at the plug? Seems like the circuit is open somewhere, unless shorted hard enough it fried the new unit as well

Probably a weird question for you but does your cruise control work? Also, when you say you checked the fuses did you check EVERY AND ALL fuses?

The explaination may be simpler : those lights suks. Give it 12v and see if it lights up. If not it's dead.
My doorman replacement part lasted only a year before starting loosing some lights. To this day, I have only have bulbs working.

I just checked into mine today I bought a replacement on eBay...the replacement wasn't working either so I checked voltage and ground at the plug both were good then I hooked the light up to the battery direct and it lit up I checked plugged it in...didnt work...hooked it to the battery again it worked switched my jumpers the one on ground to positive and vise versa and it didnt light up..so my guess is the replacement is wired wrong...unlike a standard bulb LED light do have a positive and negative...so I have to try and pull the wires from the plug and switch them...hopefully sometime this week I will know exactly what is going on

how much voltage are you getting at the plug, reason i ask is i have a 06 ppv Tahoe and im having same issue all fuses are good but no light,im thinking is either my brake switch is bad or broken wire somewhere, haven't got that far yet but want to see what your answer is,cause im merely getting three volts the schematic i found i believe is only 5 volts at that plug.just trying to verify.thanks in advance
