04 Z71 110K rear end bad

Just turned 110k on my 04 z71, rear end went out yesterday. drive shaft spins and the rear end doesn't. Think i stripped my pinion. Anyway i'm trying to decide what to do I can do the following

Salvage yard unit 118k on it for $500

Rebuild the unit i have for $800 12k/12mo warranty

Or buy a jasper and install it myself around $1100 w. 3yr 100k warranty

Any opinions

I would lean toward the rebuild or jasper. For the extra $300 may as well get what you want if you plan on keeping the rig.
