Does anyone know what the padding on the bottom of the plastic is for? I washed mine and the padding disintegrated.

Okay cool, I was concerned that they might be for heat to protect the plastic. I'll just remove them then.

Yeap removed mine. Just to help with sound , just like a hood pad.
