Hi guys, new to the group here!

Im sure its been asked a million times but I have a 2005 Z71 Tahoe and want to completely remove the roof rack. I have searched and searched and cant find any "how to's". I seen something about a roof rack delete kit you can buy but I cant seem to find where you would get it from. Does anyone happen to know where I can find a video or pictured illustration? I can get the front and end caps off but the middle section I cant find any screws or bolts to undo the section of it? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

For the middle I believe you have to take the cross members out, they slide out the back, then you slide the entire roof rack piece and it will disengage the center hold. The center is a piece of plastic. I don't know if you slide it forward or backward to disengage, but shouldn't be hard to figure out.

Yeah I think the Z71 racks have the same little plastic anchor nuts in the middle of the rack that the escalade racks have that hold them in place. You slide them forward and they come come out from the underside of the rack. And then you take the mounting screw out from the anchor nut and it comes off the roof spot.

Thanks for the info! Im going to give that a shot and see what happens. Ive seen something on the net about some billet plates that you can buy to screw in and cover the holes with, any idea where to get them or some close to it? I dont want to weld them up and have it painted, I would like to keep the holes in case I do ever need to put the rack back on.

Here is a pic of my baby.....I have 26" rims on it, in the process of taking the fender flares and other lower molding off, debadged emblems, have my lowering kit on order, putting a flowmaster exhaust on it dumped 3/4's of the way back and have a Kenwood DDX9703s 7" touchscreen dvd/stereo.....stereo is nice but sucks because I cant use the OEM features because of my year Tahoe is not equipped with alot of the stuff such as parking sensors, electronic climate control and so on. Other than that its a nice stereo but expensive to install due to the stupid bose system!

For the time being you could always put your OEM screws back in.
Unless your 6'8 you won't see them.

I'm on mobile and can't look up those pieces you described right now. But I can look tomorrow.
