if I turn it on and tap the gas the rpms go very low sometimes the truck dies. If I turn the heater on full blast the rpms go very low also . Trying to zone it down between the big three - gas , air , or electric.
So I started with electric and like I said before I charged the battery then I took the negative off the post while the truck was running to see how the alt was and it was working fine. Then I got some MAF and TB cleaner and started to clean all that. MAF was squeaky clean. Same with the air filter and tube. The front side of the TB was fairly clean but the backside was naaasty (cleveland brown voice). Bought a new drop in paper filter to replace the K&N oiled drop in filter. Fingers crossed, not sure if that TB has ever been cleaned in its lifetime.
Slap everything back together later tonight. Fingers crossed.

Also I see the throttle positioning sensor is riveted to the throttle body . If I was to replace that I would have to drill those out ? Just curious

Parked it because it was dead after sitting over the weekend. Was sitting all weekend while I was out of town and I think one of my nieces or nephews were playing with the lights and killed the battery. Jumped it. Drove it to work and it died there. Next day had the battery charged at autozone. Hasn’t died while sitting parked over night but will lose power and die while running. The idle is very low and goes up and down between 400rpms and 750. No codes. Battery is 2 years old, alt is 3. Some were saying throttle positioning sensor, but wouldn’t that throw a code?
Iac possibly? Yeah, I'd think it would throw a code, even a low idle code.

Fuel pump?
New oem fuel pump installed in 2015. Hope it’s not that again. When I drive it there’s no loss in power when I have the accelerator pressed. Would a pump effect all ranges not just idle ? Asking cause I’m learning lol

Yes, I’d expect more stumbling while driving. I thought that was also happening. So I guess all the issues are at idle?

It should have 2 screws holding it on but I guess it could be riveted. In that case then yes drill them out. Hopefully it was that dirty TB. I doubt the fuel pump would cause your issue at idle only.

Slapped everything back together and she’s running smooth as silk just like before. Glad it was an easy fix. Cleaned everything up and that’s all it took. Put in a STP paper filter. Will order a dry airaid drop in filter to replace that.

Now I’m really considering a catch can purchase soon.

I'm thinking about one as well. Other than cleaner oil what's the benefit of a catch can?
