New oem covers come with the clips. I would but the burden on the body shop. I just brought one painted the other day and it came with the clips new from the dealer.

Interesting. They said they got it from GM...and that they used to come with clips, but now it's a separate order for the clips. Been a long story with this bunch...and I'd rather not have to deal with them anymore about this. Just want to fish the old clips out without breaking them and go on with my life...

As a follow-up... The old clips snapped out with a little effort and snapped into the new one easier. The bigger issue was the fit of the new cover. The contour doesn't match the vehicle bumper and requires some "wedging" to get the tabs to get in. Even then, it bows out on the corners and wants to come loose on bumpy drives. Anyone know if that can be remedied by either shaving the tabs or putting some heat to the cover to reduce the bowing resistance?

When I did this exact thing i drilled holes in the bumper so the tabs would actually fit n
