07 denali transfer case fluid question

07 denali, full time awd with stabiltrac

Transfer case in owners manual say dex 3, dex 6 replaced 3 in transmissions, is this the same in transfer cases? Can I use 6? I have some left over from trans fluid change and would like to use it up

I have the same question. I also have an 07 Denali. But my OM says to use manual transmission fluid. I’m confused. I’ve read that people are using Dexron 6 which goes in the transmission.

Our awd 07 Yukon Denali has a BW4485 transfer case (rpo code NR3), and takes/holds 3 pints atf.
