Hi Folks,
I am Bryan Cobb from N. Georgia and am new here, hoping to humbly get some technical knowledge from those who blazed the trail.

For the first 320,000 miles, my 07 Tahoe's A/C still had the factory charge of refrigerant and would cool the passenger compartment so cold you could hang meat. Now it has problems with all the blend-door actuators and the refrigerant has started slowly leaking out.

I tend to be a person who kills a fly with a sledge hammer so this week I am removing all the interior components for access to the 5 or 6 actuators. Dreading it but the dealer wants $1600 plus parts. I understand why.

Second, I suspect the A/C lines to the rear evap coil have been eroded by road grit where they are under the step-boards. I ordered the Dorman brand #926-997 line set that are prebent and segmented for ease of installation. Dorman products usually seem to be VERY good and work well.

HERE'S MY QUESTION: DOES ANYONE HERE HAVE 1st hand EXPERIENCE WITH THIS INSTALL?

Thanks In Advance,
Bryan

Welcome, Bryan. Before you go replacing lines, check the little Schrader valve at the low pressure fill port. They’re a common failure point. Had to replace mine with a new core in my ‘07. No more leaks. You can do the job with the same tool you’d use to replace the valve core in a bike tire.

Here's to "driving 'em till the wheels fall off." Good job

I have a 94 Camaro that we bought new also. The 07 Tahoe and the 94 Camaro both rolled over 300,000 on the exact same day. It occurred naturally. We only noticed the last 3 weeks that it was going to be close so we slightly modified our routines and chose which car to take to work to make it happen. The last 50 miles were closely orchestrated. The Chevy dealer salesmen that sold us each was at my house for this photo op.camaro tahoe 300000k 2.jpg

Thanks a lot Dave. I have decided the lines are still good, FOR NOW.
