07 Tahoe engine whistle

I have an 07 Tahoe with a 5.3. The engine intermittently makes a whistling noise sounding something like a vacuum leak. Rpms increase and the sound more or less goes away. Anyone had this? The sound is much more pronounced when it's hot outside. Does not change with A/C on or off.
