My 07 Tahoe has about 100k miles on it, and I think it is time to replace shocks and struts. The roads are terrible here in Illinois and I am thinking at least one of my shocks or struts is busted as I feel thumps when I am going over a lot of bumps. One bump is ok, but when back to back or really bad road I feel it.

So, my question is this. I originally wanted to lift my Tahoe a bit, or level it, but my new garage doesn't have the clearance. I could maybe get two inches lift at best. So instead, I am wanting to go stock height. I live fairly far outside of town, so I would like to get a loaded set with springs and everything on and ready to install. So, with it being a Z71, do I need to know anything specific? Will a standard strut drop my front height, or can I use just a standard strut? When looking, I have seen some that say "except Z71" and others don't say anything about Z71 at all.

I am looking for something with a smooth ride. I do tow, but not very often, and I drive 80% on pavement, but it that pavement might as well be off road. lol

Here are the three I am looking at, and any other suggestions are welcome.

I don't have a NNBS Z71....... but loved the ride of them so much so that I bought ACDelco OEM Tenneco Z-71 Struts to put on my standard LT.

Thanks, I am looking around for a decent price on the stock Z71 struts.

Anyone else have an opinion?

BTW - Do you by the chance know the part number of the Tenneco struts?
