Replacement autoride strut coil spring assembly

There’s no fully loaded OEM strut for the 07-14 z55 / z95 anymore.

Worth it’s weight in gold to buy the OEM parts a la carte. On a few boots and goodies I did MOOG & aftermarket. MOOG has replacement springs on R/A right now. Your current springs should be ok. Save them as they’re NLA if you don’t like the MOOG.

Dorman assemblies were having frequent returns for leaks since introduced.

@petethepug, I will reuse my springs unless a reason not too. I plan to get the oem strut and oem bump stop. Anything else I should replace? Thx

Just as a quick follow-up, I went with the arnott passive front strut assemblies and rear shocks and they’re great…I’m not sure not as good as the oem autoride, but good enough for government work, and total cost was under $800 out the door from rock auto (DIY installed in 2-3 hour each pair) + I’m supposed to get $50 each for the rear cores from arnott (they buy those back).

I’d be curious to know if there’s a way to get some $$ from the front cores.

There may be someone close to you that would take those old cores off your hands.
I would if I was close enough.
That would allow me to have a new set of front struts ready to go when I replace mine.

Arnott should buy the F&R back. If not, set them in a corner somewhere for a few months. They’ll buy em when they run low.

The Mag fluid in the z95 can not be shipped if leaking so, no shipping period on used Caddy struts.

If I understood you right, your originals weren't leaking or anything, right? I still have the originals on my '07 with 248K miles on them. If they're still in good shape, I'll buy them from you for $100 plus shipping, if you're willing to ship.

Sorry, I would have taken you up on that, but they got taken out with the trash. They were really beat up. I don’t know what the exact issue was, but they would clank around loudly when I went over speed bumps, and they felt pretty unstable hitting bumps at high speeds on the freeway. No more of those issues with the Arnotts. I asked arnott if they’d buy the front cores, but they said no because they only rebuild the rears.

Somethings changed in the blend of materials they use in the bladders in air struts. I’m still on the original 2002 rear bags in the struts on my Audi allroad wagon. The fronts are on their 3rd or 4th set of Arnott.

Pretty amazing since it regularly carried the kids in the rear facing 3rd row. I wonder if the bladders were specifically blended with something known to make them last. This vehicle runs full air suspension front & back that’s height adjusted for load and speed. It gets worked.
