08 Tahoe 24's What Drop?

I recently bought 24" Versante wheels with a 30mm offset. Running 305/35R24. what drop would be Sufficient for no rubbing?

Even a 2" front drop will rub with a 305. with a little bit of trimming you could do a 2/3-4

I haven't mounted the tires yet. would I be better off with 295?

yes. It also depends on the offset of the rim though.

30+ offset with 295s you should be able to run a 3/5 with little rubbing.

i had the same set up on mine before i did 3/5 on the same tires now 26s on the 3/5 drop

in rear you will need to trim the plastic liners adn do free travel mod

in front you just need to to my fenderwell mod and you will be fine
