08 Tahoe lift gate opening on its own

My new to me 08 Tahoe LT is opening the lift gate on its own. Luckily we have been at home every time it has happened. I don't know a lot about this part of a car, but I am an electrician so I feel like I should be able to change some wires if that is what the problem is. Searched the forum and couldn't find any info on my particular problem. Any advice would be welcome.

Is it with the doors locked or unlocked? It could be getting a signal from one of the remotes or possibly the button inside.

The only way I can get it not to do it is to turn off the power door at the buttons above the center console.But then I can't use the key fob. Kinda defeats the purpose of having the option.

Sounds to me like it is getting a signal from either the button or the remote. Maybe take the battery out of one of the remotes and see if it still does it, then move on to the next, if neither of those remedy the situation try unplugging the button.
