Wondering if anyone can help :

I have 2008 tahoe with power folding side mirrors, with the puddle lamp built in. My wife high-fived a construction van the other day and busted the pass side mirror lower black plastic trim part. Somehow the rest of the mirror was OK.

But Im finding I can only buy a chrome version of the lower plastic mirror trim. And it is double sided taped in place. Looks pretty cheesy, not to mention I would like to stay with black trim if possible.

Here is link to the chrome version -

Anyone know if this is decent, or if there is a black version for me? The dealer wants to sell me entire new mirror assy at $250.

I dont think they just sell the black trim because its actually the whole base itself its a one piece. I wouldnt buy the cheap stick-on chrome doesnt look right.

No the black trim lower portion of mirror can be removed seperately. It just snaps in place and is also extremely cheap. I just wonder how much worse the ebay chrome versions would be. Has anyone bought them ?

That is not an oem replacement lower. That is just a chrome stick on that goes on TOP of your actual mirror. It's to replicate the esky mirrors. Why don't you just buy a whole new mirror on eBay? You can get a normal side-view mirror for less then 100$ total.

I bought them, had them on my car for a few days, and took them off. Eventually bought the real esky mirrors.

If the ebay ones are just stick on OVER the existing cover, wouldnt the stuck on chrome version stick out by however thick it was versus the painted top cover? That would look horrid ... not to mention stick on anything is fugly.

If you've replaced yours with esky mirrors, would you feel like selling me the black plastic lower part I need for the pass side mirror ?

Those esky mirrors look nice but Im just looking for black not chrome.
