Amen. I think I got my issue figured out the pwr wire in the mod. Pigtail was junk although it was reading 12v . Ordered the six wire pigtail $77 for a connector what a F-ing joke
I have a 08 Denali same problem,where is control module located? And what's it called

On our last Denali we had the power running boards and they were temperamental at times.

Sounds like you got it fixed but some things to keep in mind down the road that helped me.

Keep the hinges clean and lubed, just don't use wd-40, use a quality lubricant.

I also had one side bind up one time and there was a rock stuck in the hinge. If you pull the housing off the motor, you can turn the armature and lower the step manually. Then once the rock was out, cleaned everything and presto, good to go.

Also, if you have winter season where you are at, turn the powered boards off once it gets below freezing and leave them off for the winter. I did that the last couple of winters and once it warmed back up and the streets were clean, the boards seemed to work better. I guess having all that road grime, salt and crap just messes with them.
