09 Denali - Aftermarket Radio No Sound

I just got this 2009 Denali, I’m trying to replace the radio, door speakers and install a sub/amp.

I’ve got the JVC KW-M560BT Model
Using the Metra WM-GM29-SWC Harness
I’ve got everything hooked up how it should be, everything is tight, the head unit powers up, but there is no sound coming from the door speakers, there is sound coming from the factory tweeters but it is very quiet even at max volume and you can barely hear it. I’ve read some things about the factory amp causing this issue but I cannot figure out how to either bypass it or figure out why it’s not working properly to produce sound from the door speakers. I’ve tried going back over all of my connections, tried hooking the blue/white cable up with the blue cable like I’ve seen online with no luck at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated at this point because I’m at a stand still with this project.

I am assuming that since it is a Denali, you had the OEM Bose system installed. The Bose amp is looking for a speaker impedance in the area of 2 Ohms, and I'll bet you installed standard 4 Ohm aftermarket speakers. This represents an impedance mismatch which will impact sound volume and integrity. I am a bit surprised that you don't hear a bit more volume, even with the impedance mismatch.

I’ll upload some pics whenever I get home from work today, and yes Bose system came stock, only thing I’ve replaced are the front and rear door speakers. They are Deaf Bonce Machetes and they are 4 Ohm. I don’t hear any volume at all out of them and what’s coming out of the stock tweeters you have to be right at it to hear it. If I put the stock head unit back in then everything works how it should.

Ha, I have that exact HU in my truck! In my case, no Amp so I have the wires going directly to the speakers using factory wiring. Do you have BOSE in your truck?

That's not a complete metra part number and if the one you purchased does not specify your year and bose then it won't work

The price point with all the features is what really sold me on it, at least you have good taste lol

And yes the truck came with BOSE stock, but I’ve replaced the front/rear door speakers.

I replaced my speakers as well. Did you have audio from the speakers prior to replacing the HU? As @Doubeleive mentions - the harness (according to my 2 minute research on Walmart's site) does not seem to be the right model. Personally, I would either poke around on Crutchfield or SonicElectronix websites for complete harness - probably include one that gives you the rear audio controls that Denali models have.

Looks like it is a Walmart exclusive harness - sounds even worse now that I think about it. The guy I got it from had an aftermarket radio in it, a cheap Power Acoustix but he was using a Scosche Harness, maybe I’ll try reusing that one if possible and see if that helps at all

Yeah the one I got doesn’t mention anything about Bose, just states that you can use it for 07-13 Tahoe, Yukon, Denali etc.
