I bought a set of 100 watt foglight bulbs to put in my Escalade after about a day they burn out. I bought them off of eBay and they only cost like $8. Is it that they are cheap bulbs or can they not handle 100 watt bulbs. I have put 2 sets in both the same make and they all went out. Street Glow has a set of 100 watt bulbs that cost from $20 up to $40 do you think they would work better? How many watts are the factory foglight bulbs?
Any help
Thanks

Yeah, that's a LOT. Were they the pure white bulbs you showed me, or the yellow ones?

both the yellow and the pure white they both burned out. Do you know how many watts the factory fogs are? I looked to try and find out but I can't. Oh I forgot to look to see where I bought those 194's for my Esky Zach I will look now and if I still have it I will send it to you. I want pure white fogs but might have to go with like 45 watt ones.

not only can the housings melt but the wires powering the lights aren't designed to handle that many amps. I'm surprised it didn't blow a fuse.

Yeah you're very lucky! Thanks for the email about the bulbs. Funny thing is, I have those exact ones and they also didn't work. I didn't get them from the same seller but they look just like those.

If you guys are referring to the Putco fog bulbs by any chance, I used to have them and they worked fine, got real hot though!:mexsmoke:
So hot that when I removed them to go a different route the filaments inside snapped due to weakening from heat.
BS design to me......

That is way to much for wiring to handle. If you really need that much output, get an HID kit.
