Hi everyone and a question that may seem stupid to you ...

I note that there are orange lights on the roof of the US truck. Is it mandatory in the USA?

Why do some trucks have them and no others?

I think it's nice and I installed on my Jeep, I think the Tahoe will have too .
Let's say, it's for my personal culture

They are actually called clearance lights

The front identification lamps are typically mounted atop the cab of vehicles. The purpose of these lamps is to alert other drivers to the presence of a wide (and usually, tall) vehicle. This type of identification lamp can also be found on road trains in Australia.

On the Tahoe record, they were talking about these optional clearance lights.

Here it's a little more exotic I'll see to put it on my Jeep. I have to put a switch to extinguish at will because it does not pass the technical control that we have on our vehicles every 2 years.

They are required on heavier GVW vehicles. Some 3/4 ton trucks have them and all 1 ton and heavier specification trucks have them. The problem with just adding them is you're adding holes to the roof. Be sure to use clear RTV silicone, ESPECIALLY on the screws so it doesn't rain inside when it rains outside.

Yes indeed I will ensure the shot with silicone.
Analyze how to mount all this and I must see also for the DRL which is inoperative on my truck, for so I have my fuse and relay.

Silicone will eventually separate from surface......

Use a tube of "Gutter Sealant".... ( for rain gutters- Check it out at ACE Hardware, etc.).... WAY better for the application.
And very waterproof / heat proof.
