At the risk of sounding like a complete Newbie, can anyone tell me how to replace the 12v outlet cap and bezel in the front dash? I got the new part yesterday thinking I could just pop the new cap off of the new bezeL, well, they changed the part and you can't do that. Tryed prying the tabs on the inside of the outlet as well, it won't come off. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Can you tell me where you ordered the part and how much it was? Thanks

Bump. I need some help. I have the cap but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the outlet out to replace it. When I pull on it the whole dash section seem like its going to break and I can't figure out any other way. Thanks

All I did was take he one off from inside the console and put it on the left side one that was missing the cap when I bought it. It wasn't the easiest thing to get on, but I just stretched it and eventually viola!

So the one in the dash you just pulled it straight out until it pops or something? Did you pull it by the outside ring or from the inside with a hook of some type?

Your talking about just the cap right? I took it off the one inside the conole. I just pulled it from the ring that is holding it around the outlet. It came right off, then I had to stretch that ring to get it around the one in the dash.

Sorry I think were talking about different pieces. What I am trying to do is remove the entire plug to replace the chrome plastic ring that has the black cap on it. This is on a LTZ if it makes any difference. Also the ring is hard plastic and non rubbery. Thanks the reply though.

The same exact thing happend in my tahoe. Frustrating! Those caps are broken off of pretty much every NNBS tahoe I have been. They must have used a pretty fragile piece of plastic for that part, because mine was rarely used.

I'd be interested in replacing too if we can find a part number.
