Looking for any opinions on the XT5, specifically 2017-2019; in short, wanting something that I can run around in, is comfortable, and that can hold 2 adults, kids and luggage.

As many know, I have a 2013 Yukon 2500 that I'm not super keen to be driving to the store, work, the train, etc. It excels and will continue to be the road trip vehicle to the lake, road trip etc.

I've read about the thermostat issues and general dislike (not sure why) of the 8 speed transmission; and seeing if I might have missed anything else that I should be paying attention to.

Looking to keep this under $20k, the dealer (Cadillac) which service's my 2013 Yukon 2500 has a 2017 XT5 Platinum AWD for $19k which is expensive and I need them to get it down to $17k for us to have a deal but heading to look at the car sometime over the next few days.

The longer they have it on their lot the easier it will be to negotiate pricing, a lot of times they will reduce the price every 15-30 days. Look at the vehicle on their website and see if they use carfax, look at the carfax report and it will tell you how long they have had the vehicle. Good luck.

That’s a nice trim level. Suede covered dash and headliner, heated & vented front seats, led headlamps, heads up display and pano sunroof. Once you get used to the vented front seats you’ll be glad to know BTdieselworks has a kit to add the option to the 2500.

17 is a good year as it just had $10k+ depreciation fall off in past 2 years. Platinum holds value better. Try and get coverage for sunroof breakage or have comprehensive coverage on insurance policy for non traffic damage on sunroof.

Hey @t_bergman , this was Oct 2024, did ya get it?
